To support their position, critics of the Shroud accused Fr. Otterbein of suppressing Dr. McCrone's findings that the Shroud was created by an artist. But in fact, Fr. Otterbein wanted Dr. McCrone's findings to be published with STURP's final report. The Holy Shroud Guild has sat idle while many reports have blamed the Guild for this suppression.
Below are a few correspondence between the parties. The names of STURP members have been deleted since our position is to represent the Holy Shroud Guild. As for STURP and its members, they have they're own protocol to follow on the method science needs to be presented and peer previewed. As stated by Father Otterbein, "we'll leave that to the scientific community".
